アメリカ人がWired Newsの記事Water Therapy for Better Humansの中で日本のウォシュレットについて書いているのを見つけました。。。
"A grad student named Karl Haley read a blog entry I wrote entitled Japanize your ass! and decided to kit out his tiny apartment in New York's Lower East Side with Japanese technologies: a Toto S300 Jasmine washlet toilet, a Zojirushi 3-liter "Panorama Window" Micom Electric Dispensing Pot, a Neuro Fuzzy rice cooker, a kotatsu (a low table incorporating an infrared heater and canopy), and a robotic iJoy 100 massage chair.
"These items have considerably changed my lifestyle," Karl reports. "Now I find it difficult using Western toilets, having grown accustomed to the comfort of the washlet ... I think adopting a more Japanese 'lifestyle' involves thinking and acting more conscientiously at home."
ですって。
でも、「Japanize your ass!」ってすごい表現ですね。苦笑
アメリカ人にするとこういう風に感じるのだろうか。。。でも、多分この筆者が変わり者であるだけなきがします。笑
ライフスタイルっても、家電だけだろ！？って感じもしますが、、、。
確かにコタツはニューヨークみたいな寒いところにはいいかもしれないですねー。
あと、日本の電気炊飯器。これ最高ですよ。
自分は友達からのお下がりで松下製のアメリカ市場向け炊飯器使ってますけど、ご飯ぜんぜんおいしく炊けません。ほんとうに、ぜんぜんダメです。
