Happy Thanks Giving

アメリカの幾つかの大きな休日のうちの一つThanks Giving Day（感謝祭）です。
この日は宗教や人種に関係なく全てに感謝の気持を表して、楽しもうってコンセプトの日らしいです。
アメリカ人はこの日に向けてもの凄い数の七面鳥を殺します。アメリカのほぼ全家庭でターキーの丸焼きを作るんですね。しかし、あまりにも多くのターキーを殺すために毎年、大統領が一匹のターキーに恩赦を与えるイベントがあるそうです。なんだか変な話しですね。
ところで小生はと言うと、アメリカ人の友人のお宅に招いてもらい、ターキーをたらふく食いました。
せっかくなので自分も豚の角煮を作ったのですが、コレが大好評。いやー、自分料理の才能があるのかもしれないですね。。。（自画自賛）
楽しい一日でした。
